Hearl Heaton range High Performance ABS Flanged Process Reels – OF offers an alternative to our standard reel. Having been specifically designed for optic fibre tubing, various design features allow access to the inner end of the optic fibre for test purposes.

Available in both metric and imperial sizes from 250mm to 1000mm and 12” to 22, they are suitable for operation at extrusion speeds of up to 1,000 metres per min.

Whilst originally designed for use with optic fibre tubing, their lightweight, strong construction makes them suitable for a variety of applications.

Flanges are moulded from Pentre’s own specially selected, high grade, virgin Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), which combines strength with lightness, without being brittle.
Barrels are usually manufactured from seam welded, painted mild steel and the CNC machined bosses engineered from mild steel.

Reels are secured using high tensile strength steel bolts and unique locknuts.

  • An extensive range of non-standard traverse widths or barrel diameters
  • Choice of coloured flanges, on bulk quantity orders
  • Barrels can be manufactured from aluminium, ABS or stainless steel
  • Aluminium and stainless steel barrels can be anodized, painted or powder coated
  • Steel barrels can also be galvanised
  • Overall design can be lightened by incorporating aluminium spacer tube and bolts
  • Nylon bushes
  • In-house component replacement service available
